Terms of service
Effective 5 October 2026
1. Using Pici
Pici provides photographers with tools to upload photographs, create private client galleries, collect favourites, and make original files available for download. You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate account information to use the service.
2. Subscriptions and plan changes
New photographer accounts require a paid subscription to create galleries, upload photographs and publish new deliveries. There is no free plan or trial for new accounts. Trials granted before this change remain available until their previously stated expiry date. The account and existing files are not deleted. Paid plans renew through Paystack according to the billing interval selected at checkout. A requested change between paid plans or billing intervals is scheduled for the next renewal date and is subject to successful payment through Paystack. The current paid plan remains in effect until that date. Scheduled changes do not create a prorated mid-cycle charge or credit. If payment for the replacement subscription is unsuccessful, creating, uploading and publishing may be paused until the billing issue is resolved. When a downgrade takes effect, existing galleries and files remain available, but the new plan’s limits apply to further galleries and uploads. Prices and plan limits shown when the change is requested apply to the replacement subscription unless we notify you otherwise before it takes effect. Our Refund and cancellation policy explains how to stop renewal or request a refund.
Gift access
An administrator may issue a single-use gift link for Studio or Pro access. The recipient must register or sign in and explicitly activate it before its activation deadline. The stated access duration starts at activation. Gifts do not create charges or automatic renewals, do not downgrade a higher active plan, and do not pause or cancel an existing paid subscription. Gift access may be revoked by the administrator. When it expires or is revoked, paid access or another valid entitlement may still apply; otherwise creating, uploading and publishing stops without deleting existing work. Treat gift links as private bearer credentials.
3. Your photographs and client information
You retain ownership of photographs and other material you upload. You grant Pici the limited permission needed to store, process, resize, display, and deliver that material through the service. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions required to upload photographs and enter client information.
4. Account and gallery security
You are responsible for keeping account and gallery passwords confidential and for sharing gallery links with appropriate recipients. Password protection and expiry controls reduce unwanted access but cannot prevent a recipient from copying content they are permitted to view.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use Pici for unlawful, abusive, infringing, deceptive, or harmful content; to violate another person’s privacy; to distribute malware; or to interfere with the operation or security of the service.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep Pici available and reliable, but uninterrupted operation is not guaranteed. We may change the service or these terms as the product develops. Material changes will apply prospectively from their stated effective date.
7. Gallery expiry and retention
Gallery expiry blocks client access; it does not automatically delete the gallery or its photographs. Photographers remain responsible for retaining their own source files. We may remove data when an account is closed, when required by law, or when necessary to protect the service.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by South African law, Pici is provided without warranties beyond those that cannot lawfully be excluded. Pici is not a substitute for a photographer’s own archive or backup. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer or data-protection law.
